In a bold and visionary move, Westmont College plans to launch a nursing program at its new downtown Santa Barbara campus. In partnership with Cottage Health, Westmont has targeted the spring of 2022 to kick of the program at 26 West Anapamu St., a building it recently purchased. “We are delighted,” Westmont President Gayle Beebe told Noozhawk. “To be able to start a program downtown that really brings the college right into the midst of the central business district is incredibly meaningful.” more

Coronavirus wreaks havoc with college seniors’ final year, future plans: Some graduations have been postponed in a time of uncertainty for students.
Many of them are back in their childhood bedrooms, ribbons from high school glory dusty on the walls. Some have their homework spread on their parents’ kitchen table. Most are taking online courses with group calls on a software called Zoom, or watching their instructors on YouTube videos. The coronavirus has brought an abrupt end to their senior years.
