In Memoriam: David K. Winter

WASHINGTON – David K. Winter, a renowned leader in Christian higher education and the former president of CCCU member Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California, died Saturday, Aug. 15, at the age of 84.

Winter served as president of Westmont from 1976-2001 and returned as interim president and chancellor in 2006-07. Prior to his tenure there, he served first as academic vice president and then executive vice president at Whitworth College (now Whitworth University) in Spokane, Washington. He also taught at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois, and Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and earned tenure teaching at Michigan State University. Read More

After the Fire: Westmont Recovers from Natural Disaster and Looks to Rebuild

Every now and then, Westmont College freshman Stacey Torigoe still encounters the scent of smoke emanating from some piece of her belongings. “The smoke smell is kind of haunting,” she said, recalling the observation from a recent conversation with her roomate. Forum brings Christian higher ed to center stage
