First pitch campaign from Santa Barbara helps Myositis patients with illness: Local man leads effort one throw at a time

A first pitch campaign led by Vance Robinson in Santa Barbara is a home run for those battling myositis, a muscle disease facing millions of Americans. … “My neurologist is at Stanford and so Stanford was my first pitch and after that pitch I got invited to the White House,” Robinson said. “I have been to the White House, I did Cal Poly, UCSB, Pepperdine, USC, UCLA and San Diego State.”  He has also pitched at Westmont College nearby in Montecito. more

Westmont wins two games to stay alive in NAIA Opening Round Tournament

Westmont College lives to play another day. The Warriors won two elimination games on day two of the NAIA Opening Round in the Santa Barbara Bracket. Westmont beat Jamestown of North Dakota 7-4 and they crushed Arizona Christian 9-0. more

The much-headlined summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is set for June 12 in Singapore. The timing of the historic event coincides with an international trade trip for a group of 17 students from  Westmont’s International Trade, Finance and Ethical Sourcing Class. more

The class of 2018 graduated from Westmont College on Saturday despite tragedies that marked their senior year.
Students evacuated at least 5 times during the Thomas Fire and the Montecito mudslides that almost took the life of one of their own.

Westmont students end a stressful semester with furry friends

Westmont students were treated to some de-stress activities on campus Wednesday, including a visit from therapy dogs.

It’s all in an effort to help students cope with finals and bring some positivity after a tough semester filled with evacuations from the Thomas Fire and Montecito mudslide. more
