School and stadium records were re-written and several Westmont athletes posted qualification marks for the upcoming NAIA Indoor National Championship. more
In a pitcher’s duel at Russ Carr Field, Warrior All-American Russell Harmening suffered his first loss of the year (4-1) as Westmont Baseball (13-4, 8-3 GSAC) fell 4-0 to the Lions of Vanguard (13-5, 10-3) in a Golden States Athletic Conference game. Harmening gave up four runs (three earned) in six and one-third innings. He allowed four hits, struck out five and walked two. more
(PHOENIX) With 24 points and seven rebounds from junior forward Aysia Shellmire, #15 Westmont Women’s Basketball (21-5, 8-5 GSAC) picked up an 84-68 Golden State Athletic Conference victory in Phoenix, defeating Arizona Christian (5-22, 1-13) for its fourth victory in a row. Shellmire made 12 of 16 shots from the floor for a field goal percentage of 75.0. more
Westmont’s defense shut down one of the GSAC’s leading scorers, sparking the Warriors to a 78-63 win over William Jessup on Saturday night at Murchison Gym.
“Defense ruled the night,” said coach John Moore, “We did a really good job against Chris Murry who scored nine three pointers in their last game against The Master’s. He did not make one tonight and that is highly attributed to our defense.” more
Sophomore Sam Bentz made the most of his first start for the Westmont basketball team. He scored eight points and played tough defense against GSAC leading scorer Russell Byrd, leading the Warriors to an 81-68 victory at The Master’s on Saturday night. more
The calendar says spring is six weeks away, but you wouldn’t know it from the flowering trees and the activity on college baseball diamonds. Westmont College has already played nine ball games. Santa Barbara City College got its season underway with a three-game series last weekend. UCSB is gearing up for its season opener next week. more

Westmont Baseball completed a three-game sweep of San Diego Christian on Saturday afternoon at Russ Carr Field as the Warriors took both ends of a Golden State Athletic Conference doubleheader. Westmont claimed the first game by an 11-4 score, then notched a 3-2 victory in the second. more
PHOENIX — After dropping the opening game of a Golden State Athletic Conference header 6-4 to the Firestorm of Arizona Christian (2-1, 2-1 GSAC), Westmont Baseball (4-2, 1-2) exploded for 11 runs and claimed the nightcap by a score of 11-3.
In the first game, Arizona Christian took the lead in the bottom of the first on an RBI double by Anthony Balderama that drove in Jake Wakamatsu from second base. The Warriors responded in the top of the first when Andrew Devian drove a sacrifice fly to center that allowed Michael Pollex to score. Pollex had reached on a single to lead off the inning. more
Westmont lost its Golden State Athletic Conference baseball opener to Arizona Christian, as the Firestorm rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the bottom of the 10th inning to win 4-3.
Russell Harmening started on the mound for the Warriors and gave up just one run on four hits in seven and two-third innings. He struck out six and did not surrender a walk. more
