Westmont Women End Soccer Drought Against Azusa Pacific

A pair of goals by Jackie Lopez and another by Renee Gonsalves gave NAIA sixth-ranked Westmont Women’s Soccer a 3-2 victory over Azusa Pacific – the first win over the Cougars since 2009. The game didn’t start well for the Warriors as they gave up a goal in just the second minute of play. Azusa’s Stephanie Lossau scored from 15 yards out after receiving a pass from Kelsey Bushman. more

Eugene R. Kuntz of Santa Maria, 1948-2017

Eugene R. Kuntz died on Sept. 4, 2017, in Santa Maria. He was 69 years old. He was born to the late Verla and Eugene Kuntz in San Jose on Feb. 29, 1948, and was a life-long resident of California…. After graduating from Westmont College in 1970, he worked as a probation officer and then as director of Sea and Summit, a nonprofit wilderness training experience and home for displaced youth in Santa Barbara. more

(SALEM, Ore.) Westmont Men’s Soccer (0-1-2) went the distance against number six Corban (Ore.) (3-0-1) in game one of their road trip this afternoon. The final score through double overtime was 0-0. Head coach Dave Wolf said, “On paper it’s a good result. Certainly, they’re a terrific team and they also play in a very supportive home environment. Westmont Students Move Into New Digs at Global Leadership Center Community kitchen, rooms with private bathrooms are big hits

The first Westmont College students have moved into the Global Leadership Center, a 45,000-square-foot facility east of Van Kampen Hall that features two residence halls and a central leadership building with a lounge, classroom, seminar room, office spaces and coffee shop. Through the Strength for Today Campaign, the college raised $34.1 million to build the facility and another $8.7 million to fund leadership programs associated with the center. In all, Westmont raised $155 million, supporting the endowment and scholarships as well as the Global Leadership Center. more
