The 5th Annual Ventura Book Festival has announced the speakers and seminars for six of the twelve sessions to be presented on July 17th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on the beach in Ventura. The speakers are top professionals in their areas of expertise. The Festival is produced by the California Literary Arts Society (CLAS) and is open to the public. Rio Mesa sweeps titles at Pacific View swim finals

The Pacific View League championship trophies sat on a table under the scorer’s tent at the Rio Mesa Aquatic Center just waiting to be won. In the end, the trophies were already at home. … Alicia Lewsadder, who was part of three consecutive Camarillo league title teams, won the 200 individual medley in 2:21.75 and 100 butterfly in 1:00.57. The Westmont College Choir will perform at 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian of Oxnard, 850 Ivywood Drive. The choir, with 40 student singers, has a repertoire that will explore the life of Christ through the eyes of five centuries of composers. more
