With two double-doubles by sophomore Lauren McCoy (17 points and 17 rebounds) and junior Aysia Shellmire (15 points and 10 rebounds) and an outstanding 20 points by senior Krissy Karr, #2 Westmont Women’s Basketball (19-3, 8-1) earned a 66-59 Golden State Athletic Conference victory over #10 The Master’s College (19-3, 9-1). Masters Lady Mustangs Top Westmont Warriors in Regular-Season Finale

After falling to Westmont in the first set to the tune of18-25, TMC took the next two frames with identical scores of 25-21. Despite leading Westmont 23-15 in the waning moments of the fourth set, the Warriors managed to produce a 9-1 run, bringing the match to 24-all. However, a kill from Morgan Koch (Auburn, CA) coupled with a service ace from Aubrey Pyburn (Sun Valley, CA), put the match on ice at 3-1. more

Streak Extends to 11 Straight for Lions

COSTA MESA, Calif. – Vanguard defeated #17 Westmont College 3-1 (29-27,21-25,25-14,25-18) to push their conference win streak to 11 as they continue with the second round of GSAC competition. The seventh ranked Pride were led by a match high 16 kills from Jessica Chase(JR/Riverside, CA) and strong defense from the back line. Boasting a 18-4,11-0 record, the Lions sit atop the GSAC standings and the Warriors are now 17-6,9-4 on the season. more

Upset Win Over Westmont Keeps Jessup’s Hopes Alive

ROCKLIN, Calif. – In a true “sink or swim” situation, the William Jessup University women’s soccer team (10-6, 3-5 GSAC) played host to fifth ranked Westmont College (10-3-2, 5-1-2, GSAC) on Saturday, needing a win or draw to keep their playoff hopes alive. After 90-minutes, neither team had collected a goal, but in the final seconds of overtime, Jessup grabbed a 1-0 win. more

Lions Draw in 2OT Against #8 Westmont

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – In a matchup of two top 15 teams, a decision could not be determined in 110 minutes of play and Westmont and Vanguard exited with a 2-2 tie. Westmont Men’s Soccer Announces Class of 2014 Commitments

Westmont Men’s Soccer has announced the signing of six recruits for the 2014 recruiting class. These student-athletes, with an outstanding combined grade-point average of 3.78, will matriculate at Westmont in the fall. All six are from California. more
