The Golden State Athletic Conference men’s soccer match between visiting Westmont and host Menlo College was a contentious affair, especially in overtime, when the Oaks lost two players to red cards. Playing with a two-man advantage, the Warriors took advantage of the situation, and Jeremiah Anderson’s penalty-kick goal gave Westmont a 2-1 victory, helping it land a first-round bye in next month’s GSAC Tournament. more

Gerald Carpenter: Westmont Theater Stages Parable of Nazis’ Ascent to Power

From Oct. 21-28, Westmont College Theater Department will offer a new production of Bertolt Brecht’s allegorical comedy, The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, a parable (1941), directed by Mitchell Thomas. The production involves the participation of 30-plus Westmont students, including a live seven-piece jazz combo. more

(Rocklin, Calif.) Westmont Men’s Soccer (7-3-3, 6-2 GSAC) scored early and never looked back as they finished with a 4-0 win against William Jessup (5-10-1, 2-6 GSAC) in today’s Golden State Athletic Conference game. Westmont Dedicates Leadership Center

About 400 people gathered at Westmont’s Global Leadership Center (GLC) to dedicate the central building and two surrounding residence halls on Oct. 13. The college, which celebrated its 80th year at weekend homecoming festivities, developed the idea for the building about seven years ago following a 25-city listening tour led by Westmont President Gayle D. Beebe. more
