Westmont Women Down Arizona Christian to Avenge Prior Loss

(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) In a game of alternating runs, #6 Westmont Women’s Basketball (17-5, 9-1) scored 11 of the final 15 points to claim a 65-62 Golden State Athletic Conference victory over #23 Arizona Christian (17-6, 6-4 GSAC). Westmont Continues Rolling in Baseball With 8-1 Win

Senior Michael Stefanic went three for four with two RBIs to lead Westmont to a 9-4 baseball win over La Sierra on Tuesday at Russ Carr Field. Sophomore left-hander Cory Dawson took the mound for the Warriors. He threw three strong innings of one-hit baseball, striking out two and walking none. more


Tony Newnan joined the UCLA women’s basketball staff in May of 2011 and enters his sixth season at UCLA in 2016-17. He is a 20-plus-year coaching veteran, with Pac-12 experience, known for his defense, who has worked with numerous players drafted by the WNBA over the years. … Prior to UCLA, Newnan has been a women’s basketball assistant coach for eight seasons at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, Calif. more
